To the south it extends as far as Vasilissis Sofias Avenue where it borders Rigillis and the district of Pagrati. It extends northwest to Sina Street and Itis Street where it separates from the district of Neapolis. Kolonaki was named after an old marble pillar of 2 meters high and 30 cm in diameter that was found in the area and was restored on the right staircase of Deksameni.
