In the ancient times, Saronida was an area of the municipality of Attica, called Saronikos, located on the coastal part, according to the administrative division of Klisthenis. Today, following the Kallikratis program, the community of Saronida is administratively integrated into the new municipality of Saronikos, which belongs to the Prefecture of East Attica. It is a popular holidays resort, in Southeast Attica, built on the shores of the Saronic Gulf. The administrative boundaries of the community extend from Lagonissi to the mountain ranges of Olympus, along the coastal zone of Southeast Attica. The area lies about 45 kilometers southeast of Athens and 10 kilometers west of Lavrio.
Saronida is only 10 meters above sea level and is surrounded by massifs. The 2011 census showed that the population in Saronida is 2.584, a number that increases during the summer months, when Athenians visit their summer houses. The building density defines 315 inhabitants per square kilometer of land.
