Kalavryta is a small mountain town in the Prefecture of Achaia, it is built in the Aronian Mountains (Helmos) at an altitude of 735 meters. The town is located on the right bank of the river Vouraikos, 24 kilometres south of Aigio, 40 km southeast of Patras and 62 km northwest of Tripoli. Its population according to the 2011 national census is 1.674 permanent residents.
