Nea Erythrea is a municipal unit of the Municipality of Kifissia, along with Kifissia and Ekali, in the North Section of Athens. The first settlers in the area were refugees from the Ionian Erihtrea Minor Asia in 1923, thus it was given the name \”Nea\”, originally belonging to the Kifissia Community.

In 1928 there were 1.844 inhabitants. Since 1/1/2011 Nea Erytraia is a municipal unit of Kallikratik Municipality of Kifissia.

The Folklore Museum of the Asia Minor Union of Nea Erythraia, located at Karastamatis and Dribeti Street 2. It opened in 1992 and hosts 1,380 relics from various parts of Asia Minor.
