Drapetsona is a municipal unit of the Municipality of Keratsini-Drapetsona of the regional unit of Piraeus and part of the Athens Town Hall in Attica. It has a population of 13,968 inhabitants according to the 2011 census and an area that expands in 1,725 square meters.

It is located at the southwestern tip of the wider Piraeus region, including the Hetonia coast. It borders to the north with the Resurrection of Keratsini, to the south with the Hetoneia coast, to the east with the Papastratos district and to the west of the Saronic Gulf very close to the island of Psytalia where the wastewater treatment is being carried out. The first church in the area, Saint Dionysius, that was built around 1805. In 1834 part of the area was given to Piraeus to become a cemetery. After the Asia Minor Disaster, the population increased rapidly due to the refugee settlement in the area.
