Kranidi is a small town in the Prefecture of Argolida, located on the southeastern tip of the Peloponnese. Its population is 4.006 inhabitants according to the 2011 census. It is about 50 km far from Nafplio and about 180 km far from Athens. It is connected by the sea with Piraeus and the Argosaronic islands via the ports of Ermioni and Porto Cheli. Today it is the seat of the Municipality of Ermionida.

Kranidi is built amphitheatrically on the hills of Agia Anna and Bardounia. To the west and east of the city, the area is characterized by low vegetation, while in the southeast area there is a pine forest named Korakia.

To the north there is the mountain of Profitis Ilias and to the northwest the bay of the Valley with the traditional village of the same name and the prehistoric cave Franghi at 6 km. East in a 11 km distance there is Ermioni and to the south there is Porto Heli. There are beautiful lacy beaches all over Ermionida.
