Vrilissia is an urban area and municipality in the North Athens suburb of Attica occupying an area of 3.8 square meters, it has a population of 30.741 inhabitants, according to the 2011 census, and is developed at an altitude of 295 m.

The area is historically linked to Penteliko Mount while the creation of the traditional settlement dates back to 1930 at Patima. It was the area for the restoration of refugee landless cultivators, within the administrative boundaries of the Chalandri Community between Pallini, Athens and Kifissia.

In the 1970s, when neighboring areas began to be widely built, Vrilissia remained a particularly remote and isolated transport area. In the early 1980s, the center of the community was mainly covered by country houses and detached houses, while in 1986 the Ano Vrilissia and in 1999 the Patima city plans were incorporated.
