Katakolo is a coastal village and an export port of the Prefecture of Ilia. The port is located at the cusp of the homonymous gulf, the so-called Pisces Bay, and its port is artificial. The Port Authority and the Customs reside in this port. It was built in the late 19th century to serve as a transit station to the exportation of raisins to Europe.
