Livanates is a small town of Fthiotida in central Greece with a population of 2,559 inhabitants according to the 2011 census. It belongs to the province of Locrida, located 68 km far from Lamia, and it was the seat of the municipality of Dafnousion.

Since 1999, and according to Kapodistrias Law, the Livanates have been united with the two neighboring villages of Arkitsa and Gulumi and have been united as the enlarged municipality of Dafnousia, based in Livanates.

Livanates is mainly a rural village. The region produces vegetables, olives, tobacco and cotton, green beans, tomatoes, peanuts and more.

Livanates has three beaches, the Kiani Akti, which is located on the beach of Livanates (about 1-1.5 km from the village square) and the beaches of Schinias and Ai-Giannis. All three of these beaches have been honored with the Blue Flag by the Ministry of the Environment, which characterizes them so clean, perfect for swimming.
